Airsoft Tanks
Airsoft tanks are scaled-down replicas of real-life battlefield tanks. A good-quality airsoft tank, in today’s market, is self-sufficient, independent and ready to combat. It fires 6mm airsoft BBs with the help of a remote control. The remote control moves the tank both horizontally and vertically. Movements can generally be forward, backward, spin and superspin. The maximum firing range of these tanks normally varies from 20 to 25 meters.
An airsoft tank set includes a battle tank, a battery charger, a rechargeable battery, a remote control and accessories.
Some general characteristics of an airsoft tank are:
1. Turret rotation both ways
2. Gun going up and down
3. Suspension system of all driving wheels
4. Length of 40 to 45cm
5. Capability of tank fighting
6. Running time of up to 1 hour
The usual accessories of an airsoft tank include a bag of 6mm bullets and a radio controller. Tokyo Marui JGSDF Type 90 is a popular airsoft tank. It is spring-powered and can fire 6mm, 0.12gm pellets as far as 75 feet. The airsoft mechanism, gun elevation and turret rotation are controlled by three Mabuchi electric motors with carbon brushes. The tank runs with the power of eight AA batteries. Apart from the motors, the tank has a tall pistol-patterned unit, which is the transmitter. It has a push-button mechanism. The Type 90 tanks are available in both 27 Mhz and 40 Mhz fixed frequencies. A stainless steel antenna protrudes from the back of the hull. A Type 90 airsoft tank has two forward-moving speeds and one sideways-moving speed.
Its release in the year 2000 made it a great addition to any collection of airsoft tanks.
